The rise of Covid-19 in 2020 presented major challenges to the Girl Scouts of America, but the Girl Scouts adapted to those challenges with energy and creativity. The Girl Scouts Louisiana East Council asked Rockit Science to craft a feature presentation video for their newly-virtual annual fundraiser. The video needed to showcase the ways that the Girl Scouts of America had continued to safely deliver educational resources and community-building opportunities despite the restrictions of the pandemic.

A Camp-in Campout

We crafted a storyboard based around the "Camp-in Campout" virtual campout experience the Girl Scouts developed in response to Covid-19 gathering restrictions. The video follows a Brownie-level Girl Scout through an evening participating in virtual "Camp-in Campout" activities with her troop. While she through the activities with the help of her iPad and her mother, a voiceover explains how Girl Scouts of America pivoted quickly during the onset of the pandemic in order to continue to safely deliver meaningful, accessible remote programming.

Familiar voices

We brought in several recognizable local Girl Scout administrators and alumnae to make fundraising appeals at the end of the commercial, including long-time New Orleans television anchor and personality, Sally Ann Roberts.

Team players

We worked closely on this project with the talented folks from Fireside Films, one of our favorite video production vendors.
