According to statistics released by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, almost 10 million cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures were performed in the United States in 2009, at a cost of more than $13 billion. Now more than ever, consumers are turning to their smartphone devices for every facet of their daily lives. The BuildMyBod App is the only app developed for use on iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches and Android Smartphones - that provides consumers with the ability to select Board Certified Plastic Surgeons in their area, review their procedures, and obtain detailed pricing.

Brand Gets a Facelift

Rockit Science developed extensive brand strategies and positioning for the BuildMyBod App rollout to national and international Board Certified Plastic Surgeons and to smartphone consumers. The Agency utilized its brand process and qualitative research to determine the brand’s attributes and points of differentiation in order to align with target audiences.

Direct mail, print collateral and Eblasts were created to communicate the first- to-market app to the Plastic Surgery Industry. The Agency also developed an interactive website experience for consumers and physicians that is optimized for use on smartphones and iPads.

Sexy Public Relations

The Agency developed national and international public relations strategies and campaigns geared toward supporting physician and consumer early adopters as well as general consumers in major markets like Miami, New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Boston, England, Ireland and Israel.

Media Buy strategies were developed to support B2B marketing via industry trade publications and B2C marketing via Facebook media buys in targeted major metro areas across the United States.

In Your Interface

The Interactive team of designers, developers and programmers at Rockit Science conceptualized and developed strategies and designs for the User Interface specific to the iPhone and iPad version of the app. The team utilized the brand demographic target created during the brand phase to formulate user-path strategies, pre-visualization through sketches, map planning and designs to create a simple flow for the end-user. From a branded opening screen, to new geographic map options for selecting physicians, all the user interface work was geared toward providing the end-user a progressive-enhancement experience, which in turn has proven to be extremely successful in connecting physicians and new patients.
 

Tradeshow

Rockit Science developed and pre-visualized multiple concept designs for the BuildMyBod tradeshow exhibit. The final tradeshow design featured interactive iPads and an interactive television experience so individuals could experience the app first-hand.

Promoting Plastic Surgery

The Agency continued to assist in the evolution of the BuildMyBod brand experience; including User-Experience, User-Pathways, Information Architecture and Designs for the development and implementation of BuildMyBod Promos. Promos is a robust system that allows Plastic Surgeon users to create promotions and send them to their email databases and customers. Promos tracks consumer engagement, user-rates and reconciliation of promos sold. This interactive app and website experience is being rolled out across the United States. The scope and size of this project is comparable to that of Groupon or Living Social interactive experiences.
