BATON ROUGE, LA. (June 27, 2017) – Rockit Science Agency Account Executive Theresa Nguyen was recently elected as president of the American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge (AAF-BR). As president, her primary role is to lead the board of directors to help promote the organization’s mission of being a unified voice for the advertising industry through programs, workshops, and events on the local level.
Nguyen’s term begins July 1 and will last one year. Her goals this year echos that of AAF national’s to encourage members across all disciplines and career levels in the advertising industry to further promote diversity and inclusiveness in their work and company culture.
AAF-BR, recently named 2017 Division III Club of the Year, is dedicated to serving, connecting, and developing advertising professionals. The organization consists of local professionals based in the fields of advertising, sales promotion, public relations, marketing, production, and the buying or selling of media. The local chapter is part of District 7, which represents 20 affiliate chapters in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
All local chapters are an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the oldest and only national organization representing the interests of the entire advertising community. The national AAF membership is comprised of nearly 100 corporate members made up of the nation’s leading advertisers, agencies, and media companies; a national network of nearly 200 local clubs representing 40,000 advertising professionals; and more than 200 college chapters with 5,000 student members.
The AAF operates a host of programs and initiatives, including the Advertising Hall of Fame, the Advertising Hall of Achievement, the American Advertising Awards, the National Student Advertising Competition, the Mosaic Center for Multiculturalism and AdCamps for high school students.
